Chung Hwa Middle School (CHMS), a non-profit Chinese private school with a history of more than one hundred years, has recently completed an important leadership restructuring.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Directors announced that former\u00a0Deputy\u00a0Principal (Academic),\u00a0<\/span>Mdm. Teo Siew Ying<\/span><\/b>, has been appointed Acting Principal effective 1 June 2026. Assistant Principal (Administration),\u00a0<\/span>Mdm. Teh Siew Eng<\/span><\/b>, has also been promoted to\u00a0Deputy\u00a0Principal (Administration) with effect from the same date. The principal,\u00a0<\/span>Mdm. Kho\u00a0Guik\u00a0Lan<\/span><\/b>, has been appointed Principal\u2019s\u00a0Advisor and will\u00a0assist\u00a0the new leadership team during the transition period to ensure a smooth handover.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition,\u00a0<\/span>Mdm. Soh Kiaw Han<\/span><\/b>\u00a0was promoted earlier this year to Acting Assistant Principal of the Primary Section. The management teams of the Secondary Section and Kindergarten remain unchanged, with\u00a0<\/span>Mdm. Tan Been Tiem<\/span><\/b>\u00a0continuing as Assistant Principal of the Secondary Section and\u00a0<\/span>Ms. Sim\u00a0Man\u00a0Ling<\/span><\/b>\u00a0remaining\u00a0as Assistant Principal of the Kindergarten.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Principal\u00a0Kho Guik Lan\u00a0Appointed Advisor to Provide Guidance During the Transition<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the years, Principal\u00a0Mdm. Kho\u00a0Guik\u00a0Lan\u00a0has devoted herself wholeheartedly to the development of the school, leading it to remarkable achievements in academics, cultural heritage, and campus development. She has earned the deep respect and trust of staff and parents alike.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To ensure a smooth leadership transition, the Board has specially appointed her as an advisor.\u00a0During this transition period, she will use her extensive experience and professional\u00a0expertise\u00a0to help Acting Principal\u00a0Mdm. Teo Siew Ying\u00a0become familiar with school operations and ensure the continuity and smooth functioning of all school affairs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Principal\u2019s Advisor,\u00a0Mdm. Kho\u00a0stated:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u00a0sincerely thank\u00a0everyone for your trust and support over the years. It is my\u00a0honour\u00a0to continue serving the school in the capacity of an advisor during this transition period. Continuity Through Internal Leadership Development<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The position of Acting Principal has been entrusted to former\u00a0Deputy\u00a0Principal (Academic),\u00a0<\/span>Mdm.\u00a0Teo Siew Ying<\/span><\/b>. During her tenure, she\u00a0was responsible for\u00a0curriculum reform and the implementation of smart teaching initiatives. She is well acquainted with the school’s educational vision and fully understands the significance of preserving Chinese education. In her new role, she will focus on enhancing teaching quality and promoting the holistic development of students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The position of\u00a0Deputy\u00a0Principal (Administration) has been assumed by former Assistant Principal (Administration),\u00a0<\/span>Mdm. Teh Siew Eng<\/span><\/b>. She will continue\u00a0assisting\u00a0the Acting Principal in overseeing the school’s administrative affairs and improving administrative efficiency to better support teaching and learning.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As Acting Assistant Principal of the Primary Section,\u00a0<\/span>Mdm. Soh\u00a0Kiaw\u00a0Han<\/span><\/b>\u00a0will focus on strengthening primary education and character development among students. Meanwhile, the\u00a0Assistant Principals of the Kindergarten and Secondary Section remain unchanged, ensuring management stability and continuity of experience in these two divisions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Acting Principal\u00a0Mdm. Teo Siew Ying\u00a0stated:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTaking on this responsibility is both an\u00a0honour\u00a0and a duty. Under the guidance of Advisor\u00a0Mdm. Kho\u00a0Guik\u00a0Lan, I will lead the team with dedication and steady determination, striving to live up to the trust placed in us by the school and ensuring that every student can grow and thrive in a positive learning environment.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Passing the Torch, Preserving the Legacy<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Directors of Chung Hwa Middle School\u00a0emphasised\u00a0that this personnel change does not\u00a0represent\u00a0a break from the past, but rather the passing of the torch from one generation of leaders to the next. It is hoped that this restructuring will build upon\u00a0previous\u00a0achievements and create a more efficient and united management team, continuing the proud traditions of this century-old Chinese school.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
