CHMS Tops GCE O Level 2022

As Chung Hwa Middle School, BSB (CHMS) immersed itself in various celebratory events to commemorate its 100th year of providing quality education in 2022, students’ learning remained the school’s top priority.

The school’s effort paid off with its outstanding success in the 2022 Cambridge GCE O Level Examinations. The three top-performing candidates who scored 11A*/A across the whole nation were all CHMS students, namely Chuang Pei Rong @ Annika Chuang (11A*), Tan Hong Hui (10A*1A) and Hwong Yin Xin (9A*2A). In addition, 9 out of 10 students who scored 10As across the whole nation were also from CHMS. It is worth noting that CHMS has been awarding such full scholarships to students with 5As in PSR to continue studying in the school since 2018.

On top of that, owing to the school’s board of directors’ commitment to establish a conducive learning environment in the school, CHMS students have been able to successfully achieve their learning goals. Without the directors’ effort, it would not have been possible for the school to create such a positive learning culture.

Another important factor contributing to students’ academic success lies in the quality of teaching. Every year, the school holds professional development courses to raise teaching standards and enhance teachers’ effectiveness. The courses are conducted in different forms, such as keynote speeches, conferences, sharing sessions, in-house training, webinars, and research and development.

Last but not least, the school would like to express its sincere gratitude to parents for their unwavering support and trust, which are indispensable in students’ endeavours to achieve excellence in their learning.
