Primary School

The primary section is divided into lower and upper primary levels. All primary students will be having their lessons that are designed based on SPN 21 curriculum. Year 6 students are to Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (PSR) Examination.

 

 

PSR examination covers the entire upper primary level curriculum. For the SPN-21 levels, aside from the specified learning areas, emphasis is placed on the development of the following essential skills: Communication Skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking), Numeracy Skills, Scientific and ICT Skills, Problem-Solving Skills (thinking and creativity), Work and Study Skills, Self-Management and Competitive Skills (entrepreneurship), Interpersonal Skills, Physical Skills, Aesthetic Skills, Other 21st Century skills in Digital Age Literacy.

 

There is also the integration of the following core values and attitudes: Self-confidence and self-esteem, Empathy and appreciation, Self-reliance and independence, Tolerance and mutual respect, Caring, concern and sensitivity, Integrity, Patriotism, Competitiveness, Vigilance.

Lower Primary

Students of the lower primary levels must meet both the academic and code of conduct criteria for the promotion to the next level. The academic year is divided into two semesters. During the first semester, students are required to sit for Test 1 and Mid-Year Examination. Other assessments include class work, homework and projects. There is no public examination at the end of the lower primary level.

Lower Primary Education Approach

Subjects that are offered include Chinese Language, Bahasa Melayu and Jawi, English Language, Mathematics, Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB), Computer Studies, Music, Islamic Religious Knowledge (IRK), Physical Education, Moral, and Art.

Upper Primary

Students of the upper primary levels must meet both the academic and conduct criteria for promotion to the next level. In addition, Year 6 students must pass the Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (PSR) Examination in order to be promoted to Year 7. The academic year is divided into two semesters. During the first semester, students are required to sit for Test 1 and Mid-Year Examination. Other assessments include class work, homework and projects. There is no public examination at the end of the lower primary level.

Upper Primary Education Approach​

Subjects that are offered include Chinese Language, Bahasa Melayu and Jawi, English Language, Mathematics, Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB), Islamic Religious Knowledge (IRK), Social Studies, Science, Computer Studies, Music, Physical Education, Moral, and Art. However, Year 6 students only sit for five papers in the PSR Examination. The five papers are Bahasa Malayu, English Language, Mathematics, Science and MIB.

Student Progress Report

All test and exam papers are marked and returned to the students. Mid-year progress reports are collected by the parents during parent-teacher interaction session. During this session, parents can meet their child’s teachers in person to get more information about their child’s academic performance.
