This year marks the 101st anniversary of the founding of Chung Hwa Middle School, Bandar Seri Begawan. It signifies a new chapter for us as we continue to further develop our education system with emphasis on the incorporation of innovative educational technology.
In the previous year, through a series of centennial celebrations, not only did we garner remarkable achievements, but we also won recognition and appreciation from the public.
However, we must not rest on our laurels. It is imperative that we think ahead and plan for the future. Firstly, we must raise our school’s standards to help our students unleash their fullest potential. Secondly, teaching quality remains a top priority as we seek more outstanding teachers to join us. Last but not least, we aim to improve the facilities and infrastructure of the school so that our students are provided with a conducive learning environment.
As the saying goes, “Change is the only constant in life.” In this modern era, we must embrace and adapt quickly to unprecedented changes. Only in doing so can we turn changes into opportunities. Applying this in the education arena means that we need to keep up with the latest developments in order to produce successful individuals in various fields.
I believe that with a clear vision and direction, we will be able to address issues pertaining to education, technological advancements, and employability. While our school undergoes an educational transformation, we remain diligent and earnest in ensuring the smooth operation of the school, while maintaining an interactive learning atmosphere as well as a personalised education system for our students.
In the wake of the fourth industrial evolution, we are faced with dynamic changes in the education field, setting the bar even higher in how we run the school. As a top-notch school in Brunei, we endeavour to cultivate a strong team of academic staff, implement a strategic management framework and emphasise student-centred teaching methods.
In line with the Brunei Vision 2035, we will adopt the 21st century approach to education while putting focus on trilingual education as well as the moral, intellectual, aesthetic, physical and social aspects of education. To promote a harmonious, prosperous and steadily developing community, we will work relentlessly to equip our students with 21st century skills and set a promising beginning for the next centennial celebration.
